3 John 1:2

Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

INTRODUCTION

We are poised to declaring war against sicknesses and infections, this is because they are not the will of God for us. The truth is that the Lord Jesus said: it is the thief that came to steal and destroy, he came that we might have life and have it more abundantly. John 10:10

No matter how wealthy you are in life, when health challenge comes, you are ready to give up all you have in exchange for your health. This is true, because when there is life, there is hope. Amazingly, God has given us wonderful promises in the scriptures.

Exodus 15:26

And said, if thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee.

Isaiah 53:3-5

3. He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. 4. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. 5. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

1 Peter 2:24

“Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.”

Psalm 91:16

“With long life will I satisfy him and shew him my salvation”

Numbers 23:19

“God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? Or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?”

If these promises are true despite the health challenges some believers face today, then the question, as asked by God is: Jeremiah 8:22 “Is there no balm in Gilead; is there no physician there? Why then is not the health of the daughter of my people recovered?

There must be something we have probably missed somewhere. The issue of health according to Exodus 15:26 shows that the covenant of health is a conditional one – “Do this, and I will do that”. To me, the summary of the whole thing is acquisition of knowledge

Hosea 4:6 “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.” 

As the doctors will say, prevention is better than cure. There are many things today in which if people had known earlier, they wouldn’t have gone down with it.

In other to maintain a good health status, there are some regular things you must check about yourself, doctors will need to help you, so you know the state of your health. Don’t wait until you start noticing the diseases or its symptoms. As much as God has the responsibility of giving us good health, we still need to play our role as humans.

The body is made from the earth, and a good way to maintain it is to take natural things like vegetables, etc. knowing this, you shouldn’t eat for taste alone, you should eat things that will fortify and enrich your cells. When this is achieved, your cells will produce good tissues, the tissues will produce good organs, organs will then produce good system in your body.

CONCLUSION:

Things the body require to be healthy should never be undermined. Water for example, is necessary for dehydration and running of the body. Exercise your body frequently, don’t live a sedentary life, expose yourself to the sun often to remove toxins. Indeed, God has designed defense mechanisms in our bodies, let us therefore take right measures in maintaining a right health status.

• Our Father I thank you, I give you glory for your word today, I speak over my life that no affliction will come near me. The word of God that say I will be in health will find expression in my life in in Jesus name. amen.
