Psalms 139:14 [KJV]
I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.
It’s a personal statement David made, saying “I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made”, in this season, one major thing that is needed is confidence in God who has created us and even in ourselves. Hebrews 10:35 “Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward.”. Many person’s confidence has been casted away and fear has taken over. When David stood and was making that confession, he said two critical words that I will like us to look into; I am “fearfully” and “wonderfully” made. When you say something is fearfully made, it means the thing one had taken time in an anxious manner and apprehensively don’t want to make any mistake in his creation. God, when he was making us, took his time and was not in a hurry, making sure that there was no error. David also said wonderfully; wonderfully is an adverb that signifies that something is made extremely well. There is need for us to review the creation of man once more, to help us build faith in God.
THE PROCESS OF CREATION OF MAN
In creation account, as revealed in Genesis chapter 1, God created all things and when he had created all things, he created man. Now there are few things I would love to point out from creation that even man today has deployed when making or developing something. The first thing is conception, what follows is the making and afterwards a review. All these played out in creation, as God took his time to follow the appropriate process in creation of man. God conceived the vision to make man (Gen 1:26), he made man (Gen. 1:27) and reviewed the product – man. Everyone has his unique feature, despite the population of human: taking the finger print for instance, there are no similar finger print on earth; and God in his wisdom had made it so. Interestingly, in Matt 10:30 “but the very hairs of your head are all numbered”; this shows that God had taken time in creation of man, not only for man to exist on the surface of the earth but also to survive and fulfill purpose on earth.
THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT CREATION OF MAN
i. The timing of man is perfect: Gen. 1:4,10, 12, 18 and 21 (Genesis 1:21 And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.), before man came into this world, God had made everything he will require in life set; that is why the scripture says “he has given us all that pertains to life and godliness” (2 Peter 1:3).
ii. Man is made in the image of God: As God is triumph, so is a man in him by virtue of the regenerative process that has taken place as a result of the finished works of Jesus Christ. Man is made of spirit, soul and body; and when all these fashion of man functions with God as reference and true source, such man is a triumphant in his dealings. 1 Cor. 2:9-14, Gen. 2:7 and 1Thes 5:23.
iii. Man has a purpose: Jeremiah 1:5 “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations”. Man has been designed with a purpose for his generation.
Knowing these things, we can establish that, before God made us, he knew that we would be existing in a time as this, and that we would have surrendered to him and have attained legitimacy of sonship with him. God knew from the beginning that we would be in the world in this time of pandemic, and he has designed us to survive the times. God knowing from time that we might be exposed to plagues and pandemic, had fortified us in such a way that when those things come, we have the ability to repel them. Another important thing we should take note of is that God has created us to live in – 1 Corinthians 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
God in creating man, has sophisticatedly made him; giving him all the necessities for survival; brain, organs, tissues, etc. He is indeed ready, not just to preserve us but also to fight on our behalf to see that purpose prevails. As we look up to God and trust him, his hand will be made manifest in our lives in Jesus name.
- Heavenly father, I thank you this morning, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. You have deposited in me things that will not make me susceptible in this pandemic, therefore Lord, give unto me everything I need to do to maintain that position, give unto me in Jesus name. Amen.
- May we not be short of all we need to show that we are fearfully and wonderfully made in Jesus name. Amen.
