Wisdom, Pathway to peace ~ Pst. Segun Esho

Topic: Wisdom, Pathway to peace
Text: 1 Kings 5:4, Prov 3:13- 17
Speaker: Pst. Segun Esho

Whether you are going to live long or not depends on wisdom.
How come Solomon had peace on every side?
What was his source of wisdom.

The peace of Solomon can be linked to one thing, Wisdom. Wisdom is the principal thing.

Wisdom always goes with Knowledge and understanding.

Ex. 31:3-6

We would start by defining theses 3 terms: Wisdom, Knowledge and Understanding:

Knowledge: Information, knowing about something. Knowledge is the idea phase.

Understanding: Understanding is knowing why you are doing what you know. Why you know what you know. The strategy phase.

Wisdom: Practical Application of knowledge. Knowing how to do what you do. Implementation/execution phase

Immediately you settle Wisdom, knowledge and understanding issues you would have peace.

How do we connect with this wisdom?

  1. Expertise: Improving on your skill, developing yourself: Ex 18:24-25

Everything can be traced to your expertise. You need to read. A reader today is a leader tomorrow.

Dan 9:2: Daniel understood by books. He was reading and so he could understand it was time up for their captivity.

The only challenge with must of our marriages is just lack of wisdom.

*Our set back in life is not first of all from our village people but lack of wisdom.

  • Exposure: 1 Kings 10: 1-7: The queen of Sheba came to Solomon to enquire of his wisdom.
  • Excellence: Everything Solomon did, he did with excellence. Excellence is putting your best possible. When you do things excellently it brings you peace.

I pray for the spirit of Excellence on someone today.

When you say it doesn’t matter it would be difficult to demonstrate excellence.

When you see people shining, they are doing something excellent somewhere.

  • Experience: Prov 13:20: The shortest route to success is mentorship. Look for someone doing well in the area you’re struggling and learn from them.

Experience would save you a lot of loss in your business.

James1:5
In conclusion, do you lack wisdom, the bible say, let him ask from God who gives generally to all without finding fault.
