Jeremiah 29:13 (KJV)

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

INTRODUCTION

Many people come to church but not everyone who come to church comes to worship God.
2 Peter 1:2-3, Acts 17:28, Jeremiah 29:11-13

The place of worship is a place of raising accolades to God appreciating all He has has done, it’s a place of prayer, it’s a place of listening to God through the word that comes to us (Jeremiah 29:13).

We must know that we all are in church to worship God and we must also understand what worship is and its benefits.

Worship is deeper than just singing to God, Psalms 102.

When we truly worship something, it affects the way we live.

In full response to the object of worship  it’s both spirit, soul and body, everything in us. Romans 12:1

When we worship something we declare that that is worthy. Psalms 145:3, Psalms 48:1

The purpose of God when creating man is for His pleasure, we have been made purposely by God to worship Him. Revelation 4:11

We were created to worship God, to give Him praise.

Many people don’t know how to keep to the appointment they have with God, in terms of TIME (promptness), most people spend more time dressing for the church in terms of time than to come and keep the appointment they have with their God.

By nature, human beings are worshippers, it’s either we worship God or something contrary.

In other to truly worship God, we must go deeper than what we see on the surface. Psalms 42:7

Those that worship God must worship Him in truth and in spirit.

How can you be relating with spirit when you are still at the  level of been in your natural form?

That’s why most times we can’t comprehend when God is saying  certain things because we are still in our natural form, remember His ways are apart from our ways and also unless we are in the spirit we can’t comprehend them.

So if you must worship Him, you must worship Him in spirit and in truth, John 6:63.

The word of God has great impact in our worship so if you look at it Jesus Himself said, I am the way the truth and the life (John 14:6), you cannot just be going through the word of God and have this full understanding in your system unless the spirit of God is giving you the interpretation.

It takes the spirit to connect to spirit, you cannot in the natural form connect to God.

When we come to worship God, miracles happen, healing takes place when you are totally given out to God.

John 6:63, if the word is spirit, it means it can only make impact if it is received in the spirit because it takes the spirit to communicate to the spirit.

You can’t be a true worshiper if you are not born again. Unless one is born of water and of spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God (John 3:5). That which is born of the flesh is flesh and that which is born of the spirit is spirit (John 3:6)

Worship is not what you have learnt but what flows from your spirit to God. Romans 8:14, 1 Corinthians 2:9-14

We get things when we ask according to His will.

Romans 8:1, if you are still operating in the  flesh, then you are still under condemnation.

Presenting yourself holy before God can only be by the spirit because the fruit of the spirit are the things that makes you live right with God.

John 14:6, without the truth, you cannot come to the father, the truth separate us and makes us concentrated for God’s presence. John 17:17

CONCLUSION

Working in the spirit helps you to discern between the words of God and demons.

There is much to gain in the Lord Jesus but we can only obtain it with true worship and you cannot truly worship if you are not born again.

PRAYER
1. Lord please make me a true worshiper
