The Right Hand Blessing – Pst. Gboyega Shitta

Text: Genesis 48: 1-22

God’s Right Hand is described as valiant, powerful, exalted. Whenever God is represented by His prophets, Priests or Jesus Christ and they stretch out their right hand to lay on people, there is usually a transmission of power and empowerment to prosper.

In Isaiah 4:10
God’s Right hand is where strength and help and increase comes from and it is His hand that upholds us.

In Psalms 110:1
God’s Right Hand is symbolic of authority and power. May God keep you in His Right Hand. Amen!

In Genesis 48:1-2
God’s law stipulates that First born get the double portion of Blessings. This Passage is figurative and prophetic; Jacob here is symbolic of your Father, he is a representation of a custodian of authority and blessings and he has all it takes to empower his children.

Looking at Genesis 31 and 35, Rachel was almost in the Land of Ephrath (Land Of Fruitfulness; Heb.) when she died. This is because of Jacobs pronouncement during Laban’s (Racheal’s father) search for his stolen gods. If Jacob had known that Rachael had stolen the gods, he wouldn’t have made the pronouncement of death for he loved Rachael even more than Leah. With this death, Rachael is the only patriarch that was buried differently from her Husband. So Jacob told Joseph how his mother died very close to her breakthrough.

Today I Pronounce that the Right Hand of Jehovah will Come upon you. You will not miss it when you are close to your Breakthrough. You would break barriers and break through. This year God would anoint your eyes to see beyond the normal and ordinary. God would give you insight and foresight to unravel enigmas.

In Vs 10 of Genesis 48, Israel’s eyes was dim with age and he did not know who was hugging him. He did not even know he would see Joseph let alone see his children but he did! The Right Hand of God would expand your lifespan and beat your expectation.

In vs 13 of our text, When Joseph put Ephraim on Jacob’s left hand and positioned Manasseh on Jacob’s right hand, something was telling Ephraim ‘that’s my position’. If you truly have the spirit of God, you will be able to discern things and know what belongs to you. Ephraim was nudging Joseph that that is his position but Joseph was telling Ephraim ‘stay here’ (Any human factor, trying to distort the order of your life will not succeed. Since you have no control over somethings, God will always take over for you)

Let’s go to vs 14  of our text, after Joseph put Ephraim in his right hand towards Israel’s left hand and Manasseh in his left hand towards Israel’s right hand and brought them near unto him (Israel), Israel stretched out his right hand (Right hand facilitates first position). Note that Israel stretched out his right hand first. Right hand is the forefront of blessings; the king who commanded the man of God from Judah in 1 Kings 13 and said arrest and stretched out his hand, it was his right hand and his hand withered. Why do you think the king was crying? When your right hand is gone, authority and influence is gone. kings actually don’t joke with their right hand and that is why the king cried.

So, Israel stretched out his right hand and laid it upon Ephraim who was the younger and his left hand upon Manasseh’s head guiding his hand. (God’s blessings coming towards you will not be diverted, deflated or delayed. It shall be like a guided missile) Israel guided his hand because there were so many external forces and this thing was a matter of destiny. So he had to guide his hand because he knew what was happening (your blessings shall be guided to get to you) Ephraim was prosperous because of the blessings of the right hand. You will receive that blessing of the right hand and you will become unstoppable this 2019.

When Joseph saw that he laid his right hand on the head of Ephraim, it displeased Joseph and he held up his father’s hand to remove it from Ephraim. The battle was so stiff that it became physical but there was supernatural power. Israel was already old and Joseph was young but there was an additional had from above supporting the right hand of Israel. Joseph tried to verbally alter the blessing but it couldn’t work

In vs 20 of our text, Israel blessed them and set Ephraim before Manasseh (spiritual authority of the right hand blessings. And if you read through scriptures, this is how it worked. Ephraim was ahead and prosperous because of this blessing of the right hand. Halleluyah!

PRAYER: Father release upon me the blessings of the right hand.
