Matthew 16:24 (NIV)

24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

INTRODUCTION

A lot of people have made all kinds of mistakes in life, and a lot of people are living in error, in the course of daily interaction, pressure and desperation, a lot of compromises are made and somewhere they find themselves in the pit trying to wish it away, knowing in their heart that there is a division and a vacuum, knowing that they are constantly in pains but Jesus came to take our place so that a set of people that have no hope may have hope, those condemned will have hope of integrity, those living a wretched life will have hope of heaven.

What does the CROSS mean?

The C stands for Crucifixion, Jesus was crucified for our sins, He died for us.

The R stands for Resurrection and Redemption and we are here today because He is alive.

The O made us Overcomers.

The S talks about the Sacrifice and because of the Sacrifice…

The last S which stands for Salvation comes forth.

The cross is about the crucifixion of Christ that gave room to His resurrection which made us overcomers, as we connect to the sacrifice and give room to salvation.

Without the cross, there is no Christianity, without identifying with the cross everything you are doing is in vain.

The question today is:

  • Has the cross been in vain in your life?
  • Has the sacrifice been in vain in your life?
  • The way you are living your life does it please God?

God gave us a GIFT called JESUS!

PRAYER:

  1. Oh Lord, in any way my lifestyle may show that I rejected the gift of Jesus, Lord I am sorry, please have mercy upon me.
  2. Oh Lord may the sacrifice of Jesus not be in vain in my life.
  3. Oh Lord, help me to overcome the stronghold of sin.
  4. My Father, my Father, whatever the devil has destroyed in my life, by your resurrection power let it come forth in the name of Jesus.
  5. Oh Lord, by our power, I shall not be a victim, help me to be a victor in life.

PRAYER OF SALVATION
