Hebrews 13:15 (KJV)

15 By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.

INTRODUCTION

It’s not a function of how you feel, it’s not a function of whether things are good or not, the Bible says “offer the sacrifice of praise continually (Hebrews 13:15)”.

Praising God is an act of FAITH. You are praising him and acknowledging His power, having faith that His power shall work on your behalf. In 2 Chronicles 20:21-23, when the children were facing attacks on every side, amid such challenges, they decided to praise God (an act of FAITH). The Bible shares with us that as they praised God, the Lord arose on their behalf.

Declaration:

As you worship and praise Him, every enemy operating over your life, I stand to declare in the name of Jesus testimonies shall spring forth.

Praise is not just an act of faith but PRAISE IS ALSO A FORCE, it invokes the power of God. As we are praising God, let’s realize that in Psalms 149:5-9, the Bible says “6 Let the high praises of God be in their mouth…”, not low praises but high praises.

When the high praises of God are in manifestation God begins to operate in action, praises to God invoke the power of God. Psalm 111:1 says “I will praise the Lord with my whole heart in the assembly of the upright…” there’s a kind of praise that invokes the power of God and it is that of the upright, those whose ways are right with God. Praising God; is an act of faith, invoking the force must be done fervently.

You should not just be concerned with praising God but you should also take some time to worship Him and in the word of God, the Bible shares with us about a woman in Matthew 15:22-28, who asked the Lord to heal her daughter but the Lord kept quiet, then she connected to him through worship in verse 25 and then Jesus began to speak, her worship invoked something from the Lord.

When you worship God, beloved brethren, you are submitting to Him, you are submitting your entirety to Him. Worship is an act of submission, Psalm 95:6, Matthew 4:10. When you worship God, you are meeting His need and that’s what God wants us to do. As far as God is concerned, He wants us to worship Him.

Things to note about Worship

  • Worship is a service unto God.
  • Worship is a spiritual act (John 4:23-24), you are linking up with the Most High God.
  • It is an act of sincerity.
  • It is an act of surrender (Romans 12:1-2).

Conclusion:

When you are worshiping God forget about anyone beside you and focus on the Most High God. You worship God in truth and spirit. For your worship to connect with God, it has to be a Holy worship. You must worship God with a clean heart.
