 Deuteronomy 28:12 (KJV)
¹² The Lord shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow.

INTRODUCTION

The man who has open heaven experiences blessings everywhere, the open heaven of God makes you the head and not the tail, it causes you to be above and not beneath.

People are functioning under closed heavens, Deuteronomy 28:23. The word of God is not a fable, it is not a joke, it is a reality and it has power, it is God’s word that has power and it is that word and holds the world.

Romans 2:11, God is not partial, He doesn’t bless one and curse one, Deuteronomy 10:17, so there is a reason why some have open heavens and others don’t.

How to function under Open Heavens?

Deuteronomy 11:13-21, Romans 8:28

Be a lover of God: Not everybody in the house of God is a lover of God, there is a difference between God loving us and we loving God. It is those people who love God, whose hearts are burning for God that all things work together for.

Is your heart burning for God?

You might know the scriptures, but do you passionately love God?

The Psalmist said, “As the deer panteth for the water…” God expects us to thirst for Him just as the deer pants for water, Deuteronomy 11:13 before we get to prayer and fasting there is something very important and that is the love for God, it is the foundation of having open heaven.

When you have the love and fear of God you cannot do anything dubious. Our love for God must be red hot.

The rain of God’s spirit in your life, the open heavens is not just for spiritual blessings, it shoots into financial wealth, food on your table, having a godly life, a beautiful life etc. and having that kind of life entails that nothing gets missing and nothing gets broken.

You cannot be a lover of God without making sacrifices, the Bible says “For God so love the world that He gave…”. The number one prove of your love for God is that you are doing the word, you esteem the word more than Gold.

But deceit of the heart can ruin your love for God and it might make you seek after other gods, Deuteronomy 11:16. If you want to consciously operate under an open heaven, your heart must be right with God. Proverbs 4:23, guard your heart! Bad things creep into our hearts through what we expose ourselves to and what we think about.

Matthew 12:35, before we experience open heavens in our life, we must first experience it in our hearts. 2 Chronicles 1:9, 1 Samuel 16:7, God looks in the heart and it is that heart that will stand before God on judgement day. Is your heart burning for God? Let our attitude and behaviour correspond with the Love of God in our hearts.

3 ways we prove our lives to God

1. Stay on the word of God and do the word of God
2. Let your attitude and behaviour correspond to the love of God in your heart, 1 John 4:7, we must walk in Love because God is love!
3. We must stay prayerful.

Prayer:

Lord let your word find its way to my heart, I surrender my heart to you, help me decide to pant after you. Help me to work in love and put your word first, help me to put your love first.
