2 Samuel 9:1 (KJV)

And David said, is there yet any that is left of the house of Saul, that I may shew him kindness for Jonathan’s sake?

INTRODUCTION

Anyone who is born again belongs to the family of God and this means that the blood of Jesus has brought us together, we are therefore related by His (Jesus) blood and it has great benefits e.g. Just like the story of Jonathan and David (they were covenant brothers), the benefits of their relationship lasted even after the death of Jonathan.

Interpersonal relationship is the social association, connection or affiliation between two or more people, they vary in different levels of intimacy and share a common ground (it’s centered around something shared in common, it can be in family circle, amongst friends, work colleagues etc.).

The Bible says in the book of Ecclesiastes 4:9 that “two are better than one…!” Don’t be a lone ranger!

The person you despise today might be the one God will use to help your destiny tomorrow.

Naaman benefited from his maid 2kings 5:1, Paul benefited from a nephew Acts 23:12-22, Dorcas was saved from death by the reason of good relationship and her good works to people Acts 9.

Relationship is very critical. Do you know that they might see danger and allow you go into it due to bad relationship and they can also risk their life for you due to a good relationship?

Church is not just for spiritual things, if you have a brother that needs help and you are in the position to help out but you didn’t then you have failed.

INGREDIENT OF GOOD RELATIONSHIP

  1. Genuine Love (The agape love, unconditional love).
  2. Don’t look down at anybody but see them beyond their present state.
  3. Know that benefit of relationship are both tangible and intangible.
  4. Think beyond now because some relationship pays off in the future.
  5. Know that there is no perfect person, so learn to help the weakness of one another. James 2:15-16
  6. Be humble (a good relationship comes with humility).
  7. Good relationship is about respect.
  8. Transparency.

CONCLUSION

You must define relationship and relate with people, 2corinthian 6:14-16.
We all need each other, we’re all a part of God’s body, we need each other to survive!
