Hebrews 4:16 (KJV)
16 Let us, therefore, come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
Luke 5:1-7 (KJV)
1 And it came to pass, that, as the people pressed upon him to hear the word of God, he stood by the lake of Gennesaret,
2 And saw two ships standing by the lake: but the fishermen were gone out of them, and were washing their nets.
3 And he entered into one of the ships, which was Simon’s, and prayed him that he would thrust out a little from the land. And he sat down and taught the people out of the ship.
4 Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.
5 And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.
6 And when they had this done, they enclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake.
7 And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came and filled both the ships so that they began to sink.
You receive the grace to launch into the deep when you apply the blood of Jesus over your sins and your past failures. Grace is God’s unmerited favor, or if you use the acronym G.R.A.C.E (Gods Riches At Christ Expense) meaning everything you get is not by your sharpness but by the grace of God. So, Peter has failed all night long but here comes Jesus saying to him, I can take care of this if you will obey my word.
Sometimes our past failures and things that have happened to us make us feel incapable and might want to draw us back, you’ve missed it, you’ve made mistake but the grace of God can turn it around for you.
When you look to the cross grace lifts you out of your sin into the righteousness of God. It doesn’t matter what you’ve done or where you’ve been the grace of God can change the story. It doesn’t matter how many times you’ve failed at the same thing the grace of God can change the story. Once the blood of Jesus cleanses you, you can forget the past (forget the failures and what didn’t work yesterday because the grace of God is stronger than your past).
Smith Wigglesworth said “there’s nothing in me the blood of Jesus cannot cleanse”, wherever you’ve been, wherever you failed, the blood of Jesus has the power to go into your past and change it.
The grace of God is available, God is about to turn the story around in the name of Jesus, amen!
God does not want to deal with you based on your failure, he wants to deal with you based on His mercy. Exodus 25:22, 1 Peter 1:18-19. The moment you receive Jesus Christ everything is wiped away.
Launching into the deep release of the grace for compensation, Exodus 3:21, God said something to me some years ago, He said you cannot give me your youth and regret your old age. When you give God anything, He will give you back much more (serve the Lord with gladness). You can’t give Him your time, talent, and everything and remain the same. God will never leave you the way He met you. You have the grace to launch into the deep because the mercy of God is running after you. Psalms 145:8-9.
God is eager to see you, He is eager to bless you. Where I come from, when children welcome you (daddy welcome, mummy welcome), they always go for the bag because there is something in that bag for them, how about God, when God shows up in church, He has a bag for healing, for prosperity, deliverance, lifting and I’m here to tell you that your pass is in that bag, Daddy has come home, He prepareth a table before you in the presence of your enemies, He anointed your head with oil and your cup is going to run over (Psalms 23). I’ve been young and now I’m old, I’ve never seen the righteous forsaken nor the seed begging bread (Psalms 37:25).
Luke 5:4-6, Let down your nets and say yes to the word of God, one of the ways you capture grace is to honor the grace of God. Hosea 12:13, Luke 4:25-30. The throne of grace is a place we come to make a withdrawal.
