INTRODUCTION
We emphasized in the previous session that each and everyone of us was created to do good. The reason why you are and earth and the reason you have that privileged job is because God wants you to do good.

WHAT IS GOOD WORKS?
i. Good works are those works that please God. Heb. 13:21 “Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is well-pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever Amen”. We are created to bring pleasure to God Rev. 4:11 “Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou art created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.”
ii. Good works promotes the well-being of others. Acts 9:36-42
iii. Good works provokes praise unto God. Matt 6:16 “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your goods works and glorify your father which is in heaven”. Those words that will make people glorify God.

We must know that God wants us to excel in good works. In this session we will look at certain facts about good works.

FACTS ABOUT GOOD WORKS
 Your good works is a seed: Whenever you do good works, you are sowing a seed. Your seed is seen in your deeds and actions and it is directed to meeting needs. Eccl. 11:6 “In the morning sow thy seed, and in the evening withhold not thine hand: for thou knowest not whether shall prosper, either this or that, or whether they both shall be alike good”. Every good work is a seed. Your seed is a function of your capacity. 2 Cor. 9:6
 Good work is sacrificial: Christianity is not a question of convenience, it’s all about sacrifice. Matt. 26:7-10, Psalm 126:5. Good works is sacrificial because sometimes, in cause of doing good works, people may offend you, but that shouldn’t make you close the door for others. Make up your mind to be sacrificial in doing good works.
 Good work is service oriented (Meeting the needs of people): In the society, in the church; look around for needs to meet. Good works is focused at meeting the needs of people. Col. 1:10 “That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God”. When you see people messing up, it is because the church has not reached out to them.
 Good work brings significance to one’s life: Life is not all about success. Success is when you add value to yourself, significance is when you add value to others. Good works causes you to be of value to others: what you may do may seem very insignificant to you, but on the other hand, it’s of great significance to the person you did it to. Matt. 5:13,14 “Ye are the salt of the earth. Yea are the light of the world”. At any level in your life, you must make an impact.
 Good works can save you: Your determination to do go can be a means to save you from danger.

CONCLUSION
I encourage us all to resolve to do good. God’s will above all is that we depart from sin and live a life that will glorify God. We must know that sin is evil work; if you don’t decease from sin, it will affect your good works. It not all about good works, what’s more important is – are your ways right before God?
