PSALM 27:1-3

1 The lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

2 When the wicked even my enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.

3 Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.

INTRODUCTION

Everyone wants to get to the promise land but not everyone wants to get through the red sea, everyone wants to enjoy the great things of life but when it comes to battles, we are not ready, the scripture is very clear that there was always a storm and we were foretold by Jesus (John 16:33) but he also said that we should hold our peace because he is in control, don’t bother yourself.

When there is peace, it is easy for one to say I have confidence, but when there are battles to fight, sometimes the greatest of men, have their faith toiled with. It is very easy for us to preach to others but most times we find the same message very difficult to preach to ourselves.

Confidence, is the feeling or belief you can have in or rely on someone or something.

Why do you think that storm will overwhelm you when you have a God who promised to be by your side? (Isaiah 43:1-2), and He said when thou passest through…, He didn’t say if thou…, that means you will surely pass through the waters (challenges) but there is a guarantee that it will never overflow you.

Anything you see as precious to God, you nourish it and make sure you preserve it, and that is the trial of Faith. (1peter 1:6-7, Judges 3:1-2). Whether there be storm or not, as long as you are a lover of God, things are working well for you (Romans 8:28).

HOW CAN WE BUILD/DEVELOP OUR SELF FOR ENDURING PEACE?

  1. You must be a dweller of His (God) presence. (Philippian 4:6):

The problem we have in life is that we use our senses to decide how God will move in our life. Been a dweller of His presence does not necessary mean you only dwell when you need things or when you want to ask from Him. Always seek Gods presence! If Gods presence is with you, nobody can touch you. (Psalm 37:5, Psalm 91:1-7).

  • Build up courage in observing and obeying His words: There are mysteries in God’s word that you can’t understand (1kings 17, Joshua 1:6-8)
  • Take instruction on what to do: (1samuel 30:7-8)
  • Be Steadfast and consistence (1corinthians 15:58, Galatians 6:9, Psalms 46:10):

Be still and watch God do what only Him can do. What you do with the troubles you go through is what determines the end of it.

CONCLUSION

Don’t give up! It’s not over! even when you fail it’s not over.

Thomas Edison tried to make bulb and he did that for about 1000 times but he didn’t give up and when he was asked why he didn’t give up despite the failure he said “I didn’t fail, but I learnt 1000 different ways of how not to do it”.

If you confront those challenges living them in the hands of God, you will be at peace. The peace of God is in the midst of the troubles and trials you are going through.

PRAYER

Father in the name of Jesus, I want to thank you, Lord God Almighty I ask that your hands be upon your children, and lord for everyone that may be passing through any problem, let your blessings be upon our life, give us confidence through these season, in Jesus name, Amen!
