INTRODUCTION

God created man to have relationship with one another, sometimes the benefits of relationship may even come long after you are gone just like that of Jonathan and David in 2 Samuel 9:1 but in other cases, it comes immediately and might even extend to your family.

Interpersonal relationship is the social association, connection or affiliation between two or more people, they vary in different levels of intimacy implying the discovery or establishment of a common ground.

When God saw that Adam had nobody to relate with, He created Eve. It maybe within family, work environment, School mates etc. Interpersonal relationship cuts across all level. We all need to relate with one another.

The scripture says in Ecclesiastes 4:9 that “two are better than one”. We ought to relate with one another, to benefit from one another. When we come together, all the benefits that we are to receive as believers comes into manifestation. Jonathan benefited even in death from the relationship he had with David. Naaman also benefited because his wife had a good relationship with the maid, 2 Kings 5:1-4.

Relationship is very important, especially in the body of Christ. God has brought us together into one family so that we can enjoy the fullness of the benefits of relationship. It is a shame to see that one person is suffering in the church when you have the opportunity and you are in the position to help.

INGREDIENTS OF A GOOD INTERPERSONAL RELATIONSHIP

1. Love (1 Corinthians 14)

2. Don’t look down on anyone but see them beyond their present state or status.

3. Humility

4. Transparency

5. Define your relationship

Relationship is very critical and you must uphold it.

CONCLUSION

The essence of this fellowship is actually to build us together and make us relate as members of same family. The day you gave your life to Christ, you came into a new family, the family of God! and you are expected to be your brother’s keeper.

If you have not developed a relationship with Christ, then you cannot develop a relationship amongst brethren.
